Fair Access
Equal opportunity for advertisers: no auctions, no permanent top spot and full transparency on how every ad is chosen.
The written rule
Every Digital Display turn is chosen in this order: first the advertisers eligible for the visitor coverage; among them, those with the least exposure in that market; and the same advertiser never appears twice in a row. Paying more does not move anyone up.
Five-second rotation
Every ad stays visible for five seconds. Rotation pauses on hover or keyboard focus and can be paused with a button. Contracted coverage by county, state or country is strictly respected.
What you can check in “Why am I seeing this?”
- Why an ad is shown and which coverage it belongs to.
- The participating advertisers in that round.
- The day’s exposure distribution.
- The rotation chart per advertiser.
- A 1,000-round simulator with 200 advertisers.
- The comparison between the ESTAR rule and bidding.
Why we do not use auctions
In an auction, the highest payer always takes the top spots and small advertisers disappear. In the ESTAR simulation, every eligible advertiser appears almost the same number of times; with bidding, a significant share never appears and the top 10% takes most of the screen.
Labeled house content
ESTAR content appears with the “ESTAR content” label and does not compete in rotation or count in advertiser metrics.
Frequently asked questions
Does a bigger budget mean more appearances?
No. Exposure is equal among eligible advertisers in the same area and ad placement. Budget determines contracted coverage, not control of the screen.
Can I see the explanation live?
Yes. On the home page, open “Why am I seeing this?” inside ESTAR Digital Display and run the simulator.
